Edios Media has been working with The Climate Pledge for 4 years. The Climate Pledge is a commitment to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. It brings the world’s top companies together to accelerate joint action, cross-sector collaboration, and responsible change. Signatories of the pledge agree to:
- Measure and report their greenhouse gas emissions on a regular basis
- Implement decarbonization strategies in line with the Paris Climate Agreement through business change and innovation
- Neutralize any remaining emissions with socially beneficial offsets
We are a small company and are not an official signatory to The Climate Pledge. However, we believe strongly that we live in a global community, and each and every one of us is responsible to contribute meaningfully to that community. Last year, we made the public commitment to reach net-zero emissions by 2040.
Our first report showed us that our accounting needed to change so that we were tracking categories in much greater detail. We adjusted how we track supplies and travel so that we have greater visibility into each category. Supplies broke down into material type (paper, textiles, electronics, etc). Travel was also broken down by category (flights, trains, cars, etc).
Edios Media 2025 Emission Report
What We Learned
As a services business with a small group of employees working from home, the bulk of our emissions come from business travel and purchased goods/services. Our 2024 report provided us with a baseline of 36.17 tonnes of emissions. This year, our emissions have risen to 42.14 tonnes, an increase of 5.97 tonnes. This is primarily due to additional long-distance travel for production, as well as an increase in supplies needed for those projects. While travel is often unavoidable, we are investigating ways to reduce emissions in this category.
Moving Forward
This year our goal is to determine how emissions from physical production can be calculated. Trying to determine emissions from our network of trusted contractors will be a challenge, but it is one we are excited to tackle. We expect that with this new calculation, our 2026 emissions will show an additional increase in emissions, but will provide us with a system to tackle this in the future.
We remain committed to our belief that everyone must do their part to protect this beautiful planet. We are proud to stand with the global community working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create a sustainable future for all of the world’s inhabitants. We encourage you to do the same. After all, we are all in it (and on it) together.
